You may have heard of the pop culture phenomenon that is the Shameless podcast, described as the podcast ‘for smart women who love dumb stuff’ and hosted by two Melbourne journalists. Shameless as of August 2019, has been downloaded 3,500,000 times, crowned Australia’s Most Popular Podcast of 2019 at the Australian Podcast Awards, were named in Apple’s ‘Best of 2018’ podcasts, and have been written about in The New York Times, The Guardian, The Age and Marie Claire.
On a weekly basis, the girls recap the latest celebrity gossip and an ‘In Conversation’ episode where they chat to someone who is inspiring or has an interesting story to share. With a community that boasts 20,000+ Facebook members and over 39,000+ Instagram followers, Shameless is quickly becoming a space for women and men to share their opinions and love of dumb stuff.
Earlier this year Michelle and Zara of Shameless celebrated their podcasts 1st birthday and to mark the occasion they hosted two live shows in Melbourne. With presenting partner Shopback Shameless sold out both Melbourne Shows in under 24 hours! With over 750 attendees over the two shows, they were treated to a beautiful gift bag which featured MECCA Max products and Bunch of Scrunch scrunchies.
The first live show at Chapel off Chapel which featured a special ‘In Conversation’ episode with our very own Tully Smyth, the second live show at The Park which featured a special ‘In Conversation’ episode with Steph Claire Smith.
The two Shameless live shows allowed the listeners an insight into the podcast that is loved so much and allowed them to be up close and personal with Michelle and Zara. We can’t wait to bring these live shows to Sydney and Brisbane in late 2019.
